Brigham City Temple Open House

My family lived in Brigham City for two years, so I have been kind of excited about this temple! Not as excited as I am for the Payson temple, but that's a different story. My family got tickets to the open house for an afternoon when Joe and I could both go with them. It was a great little afternoon activity and we really enjoyed it! It was a bummer that neither of my brothers were with us, but the rest of us had fun. This new temple is so beautiful, and we especially liked the theme of peach blossoms throughout.

Wicked!!!!

My parents bought Wicked tickets for everyone to hopefully go together before my brother left on his mission. We were taking a HUGE gamble by getting them for this far into the summer but lucky for him (and us), he was scheduled to leave the week after! We went Wednesday night and it was a blast!

How We Celebrated One Year!

I feel like our anniversary celebration lasted half of a week because of how spread out our celebrating was. Our actual anniversary was on a Thursday, and we decided to work through Friday this year rather than taking the weekend off to go somewhere. We did go to dinner on Thursday and I gave Joe his gift, (more on that later) so we celebrated a little bit, but the real party didn't happen until the weekend.

Joe’s Anniversary Gift to Me

I don't know what I love more about my anniversary gift, the actual gift or the fact that Joe managed to do the impossible and completely surprise me with it! If you've been reading this blog from the beginning or if you're one of our close friends, you will know that I am the most IMPOSSIBLE person to surprise! I ruined our proposal, I ruined Joe's birthday present for me last year, I ruin every surprise that he attempts. I feel really bad most of the time, but I'm just someone who doesn't do surprises very well! When I get wind of something, I start trying to figure it all out using any and all clues I get. Joe did really well with his Christmas gifts, but he even better with this surprise. So here's the story!

Wedding Cake Videos

Cutting our cake was kind of random and fun! We honestly had never talked about whether of not we were going to be nice with the cake or smash it into each other's faces, so as we're cutting the cupcake, we had that discussion. You'll be able to tell what we decided. Watch for my favorite parts: My youngest sister covering her eyes behind us when we stop kissing and my mom saying "It's ok, he'll get it off later." when I start trying to get the frosting off of my face.

Wedding Luncheon Song Videos

For Christmas, Joe's younger brother put all of our pictures and videos into one awesome slideshow/video with music and all that jazz and at the same time, he put all of the videos on a disc for me so that I could upload some of them to my blog and stuff, and I'm kind of excited!

A Day Full of Adventures

I got to spend 10 hours hanging out with my great husband yesterday! I think that a lot of memories were made and some good times were had!

All Because of YSA a Year Ago…

I've been typing up my journals recently and I finally got to the entries from a year ago when Joe and I started hanging out and dating. It's kind of fun to read what I wrote because I remember how I felt, but in my journals, I seem a lot more calm and just whatever about the situation than I think I really was. After almost 2 years of participating in our stake YSA program, I was ready for a change and had started attending a student ward at the U every once and awhile and I was planning to move my records so that I could meet new people and find a fresh slew of guys! ;) After this particular week of institute, I think I changed my mind...

Utah State Fair

It's been my goal lately to have fun date nights and not always do the same old dinner and a movie! Last year, a couple of my girl friends and I went to the state fair and our experience was hysterical! For some reason I didn't blog about it, but we had a ball! Ky and I have said ever since then that we need to go together again, so this year, we went as a double date!

Idaho Road Trip

When we made plans to go to Idaho for a wedding, I decided to make it a mini vacation so that we could take a breather after our crazy month/week and get a "vacation" in for the summer.

Bridals

Some of my very most favorite pictures that Joe's cousin took the day we did bridals/groomals!

Engagements

I love all of the engagement pictures that Joe's cousin took for us! It's really hard to pick favorites to post, but here are a bunch of them!

Olive Garden Date Night

Last week I realized that it had been a while since Joe and I had been out to eat together. We go get food and stuff, but us actually making an effort to go on a dinner date hasn't happened since we went shopping for Joe's ring, and that's been a few weeks. Dinner dates are our favorite, so I suggested that we go to dinner sometime this week and Joe agreed! All day long I kept trying to think of where we should go because I knew he'd make me pick. Our usual favorites, Salt City Burger and Cafe Rio, just weren't sounding fantastic to me and I couldn't decide what I was craving at all! I really put a lot of effort into figuring out a few suggestions that sounded good so Joe could pick one.

The Proposal – How I Ruin Everything

I'd been waiting so extremely patiently for...a while...for the engagement to be official. Sometimes I lose my patience and poor Joe gets tormented! Kudos to him because he never gives in and always stands his ground, so this was still mostly a surprise!

How We Met

I think every girl had an attraction to a guy or guys in high school that was just that, an attraction. It never really becomes an "Oh, I wish I could date him" thing, you just find him pleasant to look at. That's how I felt about Joe in high school. We had a seminary class together and I remember the first day of class when they do all of the getting to know you games, we were sitting on the tops of our desks and I was shamelessly staring at him. He stared back sometimes, I think he thought I was crazy, but I didn't care.
