I’m going to keep this short and sweet! At the end of a long day, Joe and I really look forward to cuddling up in bed next to each other and watching a funny show. We’re always in the middle of a few different TV series. Some we stream the day or two after they air live, and others we binge watch all of the seasons that are on our streaming service. We determine which show we’re going to watch by what kind of mood we’re in. And at the end of a long day, we always want short episodes that are funny and don’t take a lot of brainpower. Our go-to shows are usually Parks and Rec or The Office, and we rotate between the two. But I thought I’d share some of our other favorite shows to stream as a couple! So when you find yourselves needing to wind down and decompress together, without having really do anything, enjoy one of these shows together.

Schitts Creek
A rich family loses their wealth and is forced to move to a town they own in the middle of nowhere. They live in a motel and are essentially starting over. This series has a bit of a slow start, but it’s worth it to stick with it!
Kim’s Convenience
This is a Canadian show depicting a Korean Canadian family who owns a convenience store. One of my professors recommended this show on social media, and then my husband randomly discovered it while browsing Netflix a few days later. We have binge-watched it twice through because it’s so funny!
The Good Place
I don’t even know how to describe this show because it’s wild and random but so very good. If you’ve never seen it, watch it now! The first time I watched this show, I binged the entire first season in an afternoon and then made my husband watch it with me the next week. Seasons two and three get a little strange, but the last season is really good, so it’s worth powering through those middle seasons so you understand the storyline.
Santa Clarita Diet
This show was a really random find of ours. Drew Barrymore’s character changes overnight in a very drastic way. She and her husband are forced to adjust to this life change while maintaining their status as good neighbors and keeping up their shared real estate business.

Superstore
This is a workplace comedy that follows the lives of the employees of a big box store. It’s funny and perfect for a binge. I’ve watched the entire series through and have my husband hooked and binging it with me currently.
Scrubs
A hospital-based sitcom that follows a group of friends through their medical school journey and subsequent careers. We love the balance of comedy and feel good and the way the show is laid out. I recommend skipping the final season.
How I Met Your Mother
The adventures of a group of friends living in Manhattan, with a background of being the story of how one character met his wife. It’s been a while since I watched this show, and it’s a long series, but a pretty good watch.
Modern Family
A diverse family and the relatable and hilarious experiences they go through in life. I’m currently rewatching the entire series on my own when I need a break from studying.
Shows to Watch Together on Other Streaming Platforms
The Office
Who doesn’t love The Office?! Their workplace begs for healthy boundaries and the things that go on are very cringe-worthy, but you can’t help but love the show and the characters. We’ve been watching this on Peacock and are enjoying the randomly added extra scenes that we’ve never seen before.
Parks & Rec
Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, Ben Wyatt, Anne…. so many good and lovable characters in this show! We always switch off between watching this and The Office when we’re needing something to help us wind down. I believe this is currently streaming on Peacock as well.
Psych
Psych is a comedic detective show with longer episodes and a storyline you want to pay attention to. We’ve watched it so many times, however, that we can relax and enjoy watching for the hidden pineapple or clues we might not have noticed before. This show is on Peacock and Amazon right now.
