In high school, I admired Joe from a far, and after graduation we went our separate ways, but life led us right back to where we started so that we could fall in love.
I never really wanted to go ring shopping, the whole process seemed overwhelming to me. While my best friend was ring shopping a couple of years before, I found a ring style that I really liked and I decided that I didn’t need to look around for anything else. I shared the picture with Joe, told him a few specifications that I wanted and why and let him go for it on his own. You can read Story of a Ring and The Ring & My Awesome Fiance for all of the details.
Ring shopping for Joe was another story. I made him come with me and I don’t think he was super thrilled about it. He told me that I could just pick what I thought he’d like, but he had no preferences and would never share his opinion on any of the pictures that I found. It was a good thing he came with me because any of the rings that I suggested that I thought were his style, he turned down and he picked all of the ones I never thought he would pick. We narrowed it down to three rings and then I had Joe pick his favorite.
Did you go ring shopping and pick out your ring? Did your husband pick out his?
