Receiving gifts is my lowest scoring love language but I still really enjoy gifting to those in my life. At Christmastime, my favorite thing to gift, to my husband specifically, is a well filled stocking! My husband says that stocking stuffers overwhelm him, and I know a lot of other people feel the same way. I’ve created many spouse stocking stuffers gift lists over the years. This year I wanted to compile a list of my favorites from them all. You can find each of my previous lists linked at the bottom of this post.
I love filling a stocking because you can do it on a tiny budget, a medium sized one, or even a large budget! Everything from a candy bar to concert tickets are appropriate as a stocking stuffer. As you’re going to fill your spouse’s stocking, it can be a good idea to get on the same page as far as budget. In our marriage, we agree on an overall gift budget for the holiday and distribute that between under the tree gifts and stocking stuffers however we want.
Favorite Spouse Stocking Stuffers
Favorite treats and snacks
The simplest thing you can stuff a stocking with is treats and snacks! Their favorite drink or drink mix, savory snacks like nuts or chips, and treats like chocolates or gummy candy.
Gift cards just for them
You can grab $5, $10, or $25 gift cards to your spouse’s favorite places. Drink shops, ice cream shops, somewhere they go for lunch, etc. These are gift cards you give them to enjoy completely on their own, in any way they choose!
Car wash gift certificate or membership
Everyone loves a clean car. I remember growing up we’d always stop at the local car wash to get tokens for my mom to gift to my dad this time of year. Car washes have really great memberships, which might be a bigger gift. Or you can stop in and purchase a punch pass or gift card that’s more stocking friendly for your spouse to enjoy when they want a clean car.
Seasonal treats they love
The holidays come with goodies that can’t be purchased any other time of year. Chocolate oranges, shaped Reese’s, cherry cordials, mint M&Ms, those are just a few that come to mind. If your spouse has a favorite, grab a couple of packages to stuff in their stocking for them to enjoy.
Helpful tools and gadgets
Random little tools and gadgets make great stocking stuffers. We’ve loved getting portable chargers for each other in the past. I thought this universal socket set or this cord organizer for your desk/nightstand looked like fun and handy gadgets to get! I saw a story once where a wife put a pack of new forks in her husband’s stocking because they were always out. This one requires creativity and thoughtfulness.
Nice personal care products
Lotions, face masks, beard oil, and chapstick make good additions to a stocking. Know what your spouse’s favorites are, or maybe the things they love but don’t purchase as often because they’re a splurge. Pick a handful of those things up and put them in their stocking along with the other fun things you’ve picked out.
A small game
Card games or small games can be a lot of fun! I love the idea of adding a game to your stocking that you can take to play while you talk and wait for your food on date night. Conversation starters can be a great thing for this. I also love Uno or Pass the Pigs for table top games.
A keychain
I love the key chain idea because you can do so many different things. We got Tile keychains a couple of years ago that have been helpful when we can’t remember where we left our keys. I also love fun and sentimental keychains like this one or this one.
Handwritten love note/letter
I put this on every stocking stuffer idea list I make because I think it’s so good! Take some time to write your feelings for your spouse down on paper, put it in an envelope, and drop it in their stocking for them to read. They’ll love and treasure that stocking stuffer for years to come!
Gift cards to use together
One of my favorite things to put in my husband’s stocking is a gift card or two that we can enjoy together. Restaurants we love to eat at, activities that look fun, or places we can go to get a treat.
