Experience Gifts to Give for the Holidays

Date

Experience gifts are a pretty popular concept right now. Everyone wants to give something meaningful but they don't want to just gift stuff. One of my favorite things about the idea of gifting experiences is that a lot of those gifts involve quality time between the gift giver and the individual receiving the gift. In marriage, you can gift experiences and surprise your spouse with something they'll love and may not have been expecting. Below you'll find six different ways to give experience gifts for Christmas this year!

The Adventure Challenge is a company built on creating fun experiences and memory-making moments for families, couples, and individuals. We love the original Couples Edition, but the …In Bed and Dinner Dates editions are also favorites of ours. I also recommend checking out the Mini Dates and Quickies, which are 30-minute or less versions of the Couples and …In Bed Editions. Each book includes multiple scratch-off adventures for a variety of budgets, time frames, and locations. Season tickets or an annual pass

Pick something that the two of you love and purchase season tickets or an annual pass so you can enjoy it all year long. Community theater, the opera or ballet, a sporting event, an amusement park, a local attraction, or even the community gym. Season tickets or passes give you something to do together, for date night or just for fun, all year round. You’ll have those things to look forward to and quality time already on the calendar.

Tickets to a special event

Tickets to a once-in-a-lifetime or rare opportunity event make great experience gifts! A musical that is touring in your city, a limited-time art display or installment, an artist your spouse would love to see in concert, a unique museum display, a comedian, etc. Chances are, your spouse will mention something they would love to attend, and you can grab tickets to gift. You can also set up email alerts for specific things they love and receive information when news of tours are announced. Make it a date or gift them the tickets and let them pick someone they know would love to enjoy the experience with them.

Plan and book an adventure

This gift might require extra planning and a bit of a budget. When I think of this gift idea I think of things like; courtside tickets for a favorite sports team, traveling to see a show at a specific theater, a day at the spa doing all the things, eating at a fancy restaurant, golfing a special course, etc. Get creative and plan an adventure you know your spouse will love.

Something from the bucket list

Do you know what things are on your spouse’s bucket list? Do the two of you have a shared bucket list of things you’d like to experience together? Pick something from one of those bucket lists to gift. This might mean gifting tickets, the confirmation of booking, a gift certificate, or even an envelope filled with cash and a picture or information about the experience on the front, so they know what your intentions for the money are.

Year of dates

Plan and pay for one date per month throughout the year. You can purchase tickets, gift cards, or put cash in an envelope. Create a binder with a page of information for each month’s date. If you haven’t budgeted to pay for a year’s worth of dates all at once, you could plan out what you’ll be doing each month and provide your spouse with a book of date night plans and know how much you’ll need to save up each month for those dates.
