Do you fill an Easter basket for your spouse? I know it’s not everyone’s thing to do, but I like to do a little something for my husband on the holidays, the same way I do for my kids. Some families go all out for holidays, spending lots of money on gifts and traditions. Others keep things small and simple, focusing on the meaning of the holiday and traditions that will reinforce those. I wanted to share some great ideas for unique, little gifts you can put in an Easter basket for your spouse if you choose.
Easter Basket Fillers for Your Spouse
Tie and tie bar or tie tack
A common gift for Easter or Father’s Day is a tie. Instead of, or in addition to, gifting your husband a tie, why not get a meaningful time bar or tie tack? Nichelle Lora Designs sells gorgeous laser-etched tie bars and tie tacks in her shop. This ‘Love You More’ tie bar is going to find its way into my husband’s Easter basket this year for sure!
A personalized jewelry
Get your wife a personalized necklace or bracelet to wear with her new Easter dress and every day after. In addition to selling tie bars and tacks, Nichelle Lora’s shop is filled with great necklaces and bracelets. Affirmation necklaces, reversible musical bar necklaces, birth flower necklaces, and musical bracelets are all great gifts for the woman you love!
Personalized socks
I found the most amazing gift recently and couldn’t stop giggling when I got my first order in the mail the other day. I ordered two pairs of personalized socks from Divvy Up! One pair has mine and Joe’s faces on it and the other has our names. I love that I can wear them as I ordered them, or mix and match because they’ll still make sense as a mismatched pair! You could order yours with your face, both of your faces, your wedding date, your pet’s face, all of the kids’ faces, etc.
Purse/pocket-sized game
A few of my friends recently shared that they pack a game with them when they go out on dates. Then they play the game at the table while they enjoy their appetizer and/or wait for the meal to arrive. Some fun, portable games that are easy to play on a restaurant table are; Pass the Pigs, a pocket version of Yahtzee or Farkel, Blink, or Uno and Uno Flip.
Coconu samples
The other day, I realized that Coconu Singles are the perfect size to put inside an Easter egg! Adding one packet to an egg, with a piece of Easter candy is perfect! Your kids won’t know what they are because of their discreet packaging. And they make a fun addition to the basket, or if you want to put a little egg hunt together for your love. Any Coconu’s tubes of lubricant would be a great addition to an Easter basket, but the egg stuffer idea seemed extra fun to me! Use code APM15 for 15% off your Coconu purchase!
Gift card for lunch or a snack
Does your spouse have somewhere they like to frequent for lunch or a treat or maybe even a snack? Pick up a small gift card to cover one or two visits for them. Think somewhere they’ve loved to get an appetizer from and could get it just for a snack sometime. Or you could grab a gift card that they could use to take you on a little date. Maybe for dessert or a drink or something else you enjoy together.
Their favorite treat or snack
These don’t have to be a big bag of chips or a full-size bag of candy. Grab a couple of snack-size bags of a savory or salty snack. And one or two candy bar-size versions of their favorite treat. A king-size candy bar could be a good option as well!
A drink they love
I know what drinks to get my husband for special occasions. Things like Apple Beer or Mexican Coke are always a good choice. I always appreciate a can of my favorite hot chocolate mix or a hot cocoa bomb!
Classic Easter candy
What treats does your spouse look forward to enjoying every spring when it’s in stores? Perhaps they are partial to the candy-coated chocolate eggs or holiday-shaped peanut butter cups. Or maybe they love the different varieties of jelly beans you can get. I don’t know many people who will turn down colorful, sugar-coated bunny and chick-shaped marshmallows, for at least one taste. I’m partial to chocolate-covered marshmallows myself. Pick up their favorite candy from the seasonal aisle and add it to their basket.
If you aren’t on board with the idea of an Easter basket for your spouse, that’s ok! You might find it fun to set up a small egg hunt for them, or treat each other with a small Easter treat. If you like the idea of filling a basket for each other but have never done it in the past, now is a great time to suggest it to your spouse! To be totally honest, I’m going to put together a small basket for my husband this year, and I did the first few years of our marriage, but it hasn’t been consistent. I also am not expecting anything from him in return. I’m making an Easter basket for my spouse because it’s something that I enjoy doing and that sounds fun!
